Make sure that you visit all of the beaches in St Ives!  They are all beautiful.

Porthminster beach
Approximately 700 yards of beautiful white sand, crystal clear water. You would think you were on the mediterranean!
There are a wide variety of foods available from snack cafe, one at each end of the beach and for something special the award winning Porthminster Cafe offering an excellent selection of Mediterranean & Asian seafood cuisine.
All the beach items you could need are available for hire or purchase in the beach shop.
A mini putting course runs across the back of the beach with 9 holes overlooking the beach.
The easiest way to get to this beach from 18 Trenwith Terrace is by walking down the hill, past the cinema, past the Western Hotel, at the cross roads with Tregenna Hill go across into Street An-Pol for approx 250 yards where there is small junction at which go straight across. You will see the sea front. This is Westcotts quay, where Cornish Riviera Holidays are located. Turn right, up the quaint narrow street which is called The Warren. As you reach the top of the incline you will pass the Pednolva hotel, the beach will become visible on your left.

Harbour beach
With access from the harbour in the town centre, directly in front of The Sloop Inn and from the slipways at the Lifeboat station and the wharf. The Harbour beach is a lovely spot all year round as it's often sheltered from the winds by the harbour wall. The sand is as clean and golden as the other beaches in St Ives. Children will to love exploring around the boats when the tide is out. Look out for the seals that come into the harbour daily following the fishing boats hoping for some free lunch (see pic 3 and 4 from the harbour wall).

Porthgwidden beach

To the east side of  "The Island " is Porthgwidden Beach, a sandy and sheltered little cove with a beach

cafe, and beach shop sit to the rear of the beach. (photo taken from the 'Island' with 'Portminster in the distance)

Porthmeor beach
On the north coast of the town, Porthmeor Beach is widely regarded as offering the best surfing conditions in St Ives. It's great for family groups too. There's a full lifeguard service during summer. There is also an excellent beach cafe/restaurant at Porthmeor, just in front of the Tate St Ives.
